Dear Maud Area Community:
Due to the tragic event that occurred during the Choctaw-Del City football game, Maud Public School has worked side by side with the Maud Police Department to up-date our safety and security measures. We understand the measures may be an inconvenience. We appreciate your understanding and support, while we work diligently to provide a safe, enjoyable environment for our athletes, students and fans.
The following Protocols will be in place for the Aug. 31st home game:
- According to Oklahoma law, no firearms, weapons, or explosives are allowed on Maud Public School Property.
- Upon entry all bags will be searched
- Upon entry metal detection devices will be used.
- You will be asked to empty pockets prior to metal detection.
- Increased police presence
- There will be no parking in the area between north of the high school and the football field. There will be an area for handicap parking for vehicles displaying handicap card near the ticket gate.
- If you leave the game, metal detectors will be used upon re-entry.
Proper conduct is expected by all spectators. This includes proper fan etiquette towards players, referees, staff and police department. Students should sit in the stands and not congregate. Elementary students must have a parent or guardian present and remain with that person for the duration of the game.
Please note these protocols are subject to change to include no backpacks or large bags with the allowance of only clear bags. These decisions will be based on observations during tonight’s game.
Once again, these protocols are being implemented for the safety of everyone.
Sincerely,
Cindy White, Superintendent
